Applications must be made to the Provincial Police Department in city centers, the District Police Department in districts, or the affiliated Gendarmerie Station in villages.
Photocopy of identity card (the original identity card will be required during the application, compared with other documents, and then returned to the applicant. A citizenship number will be requested from those whose identity cards do not have one),
4 photographs taken within the last 1 year,
Fingerprint record,
Criminal record document including archive records (Police Clearance Certificate),
Health report stating that there is no medical impediment to obtaining a Smoothbore Shotgun license (from Family Physicians or State Hospitals),
Receipt of the shotgun license fee deposited to the Tax Office and a "No Tax Debt" certificate;
Smoothbore Shotgun Licenses are valid for 5 (five) years from the date of issue.
Smoothbore Shotgun Licenses are personal. They state the owner's Turkish Republic ID Number, name, surname, age, nationality, occupation, residence, and the date of issue.
Anyone carrying a Smoothbore Shotgun is obliged to carry the Smoothbore Shotgun License with them and show it to the relevant officers upon request.
Smoothbore shotguns that are not registered on a Smoothbore Shotgun License are considered unlicensed weapons, and judicial and administrative actions are taken against those who carry them.
NOTE: The issued Smoothbore Shotgun Licenses only grant the Authority to Carry and Possess. In order to hunt, it is necessary to apply to the Regional Directorate of Forestry and obtain a Hunting License.
